Man Assaults Ex-Girlfriend in Taxi, Pursues and Stabs Her: The Reason is Clear

The investigation by the Arabkir Investigation Department of the Yerevan Investigative Committee has concluded with respect to a criminal case filed against a 36-year-old resident of Yerevan for deliberately inflicting serious bodily harm and assaulting his former girlfriend.

The Investigative Committee has reported that it was established that on March 29, 2020, at around 22:30, the 36-year-old resident of Yerevan assaulted his former girlfriend in the cabin of a taxi, striking her on the head and various parts of her body, allegedly to disturb her family members by visiting her home.

After the girlfriend left, the man pursued her in his vehicle, continued to argue, and pulled her, during which he deliberately struck her with a sharp object, causing serious bodily injury.

Based on sufficient evidence collected, the 36-year-old man from Yerevan has been charged under Part 1 of Article 112 (deliberate infliction of serious bodily harm) and Article 118 (assault) of the RA Criminal Code. He has been arrested.

The investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the court with an accusatory conclusion.
