The Risk of Drinking Water Issues in Artsakh During Summer Months is High: ARA President Calls for Meeting
Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan held a working meeting today, June 11, dedicated to the drinking water issues faced by the Republic. This was reported by the Information Department of the President's Office.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Zhivair Mirzoyan, Director of the State Emergency Situations Service Karen Sargsyan, Stepanakert Mayor David Sargsyan, and heads of regional administrations.
Araik Harutyunyan pointed out the specialists' concerns that this year the Republic has recorded significantly lower rainfall than normal, which increases the risk of drinking water shortages in many communities during the hot summer months. Alternative measures to provide the population with drinking water were also discussed.
According to the announcement, the President instructed the government to present all projected expenses for the work to be done in this direction. The discussion also included the acceleration of paving intra-community roads, construction housing for various social groups, capital construction, and other projects.
