«Jamanak». Demand Made for Ruben Vardazaryan to Submit Resignation and Leave

According to the newspaper «Jamanak», the authorities have demanded that Ruben Vardazaryan, the chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, submit a resignation and leave the system. Reports suggest that the reason for this is Vardazaryan's close relationship with former National Security Service director Arthur Vanetsyan. This is why the authorities do not accept Vardazaryan, and it is clear that he, too, must bid farewell in the near future.

Yesterday, «Jamanak» attempted to confirm this information with the Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan, who declared that he had no such information.

It is no secret that judges, including members of the Supreme Judicial Council, are to undergo vetting, or as the members of the government prefer to say, their wealth and integrity will be evaluated. However, on the other hand, they do not wish to wait too long for the process to begin, and are trying to “cleanse” the system through other methods and pressurize judges connected to the former authorities.
