It's Time to Summarize How the Given Opportunity Has Been Used, Says Prime Minister
“I am confident that you will be able to consolidate the professional, honest potential of the NSS around you and lead the NSS to new successes, new glory, and a new image that will be acceptable to the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and more relevant to the new changes,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today, June 9, during the introduction of the new director of the NSS, Argishti Kyaramyan.
“I am pleased to introduce the newly appointed director of the NSS, Argishti Kyaramyan. I want to emphasize that the NSS is a strong, established, dynamic structure; however, we must acknowledge that challenges and the pace, speed, and quality of responding to them constantly need improvement, reform, and enhancement. I have set this task for Mr. Kyaramyan, namely, to make the NSS more effective in responding to the challenges we face in the field of security.
Furthermore, the significance of security changes over time, new challenges arise—ranging from the threats posed by the coronavirus to ongoing issues of information security, persistent political security challenges, and the fight against corruption. We need to address issues related to the quality of investigations into these matters.
These two years we have worked have provided enough time for all NSS employees to align themselves with the values of the Velvet Revolution. It is time to summarize how the given opportunity has been used. In this regard, very specific answers must be provided,” said Pashinyan.
