Two Fishing Nets Full of Half-Rotted Fish Found on the Shores of Lake Sevan: Alarm Raised
A Facebook user, Varduhi Aramyan, raised an alarm on her page: "I apologize for this un-aesthetic post. Fishermen exploit Lake Sevan without giving anything back to the lake or the budget (perhaps only to themselves), polluting it and draining it of fish. This morning, we found two massive fishing nets tangled on the shore, caught in the turbulence, left there as waste and filled with various half-rotted fish. The fish included barbel, burbot, and osman. We somehow managed to haul the nets ashore before they filled up with sand and became too heavy to move. Our visitors at the shore know well the torment and headache they become afterwards. Typically, these nets remain in the lake, cutting the shores, decaying right in the water and polluting it... So, should we continue to look past the fishing/fish poaching happening in Sevan and this kind of dirty, irresponsible attitude towards the lake?"
