96 Trees Illegally Cut Down in the Tashir Forest Enterprise
During a routine inspection on May 18, employees of the Nature Protection and Mining Inspectorate's Lori Territorial Division discovered that unknown individuals had illegally cut down 58 trees in the No. 3 compartment of the "Metsavani Forest Management" branch of the "Hayantar" State Non-Commercial Organization's "Tashir Forest Enterprise". This included 9 oak trees, 2 beech trees, 1 elm tree, and 46 pine trees. Additionally, 38 pear trees were found cut down in the forest strip along the left side of the Tashir-Metsavan highway.
In the No. 4 compartment of the "Yeghygnut Forest Management" branch of the "Hayantar" State Non-Commercial Organization's "Vanadzor Forest Enterprise", it was also recorded that an unknown individual illegally cut down 2 oak trees (1 being a windfall).
The total damage to the flora is estimated at 4,401,750 AMD, with respective figures of 1,771,500 AMD, 2,505,000 AMD, and 125,250 AMD for the different tree types.
The collected materials have been forwarded to the Lori regional directorate of the RA Police's Tashir and Gugark divisions.
