Batumi Beaches Crowded Today
The beaches and boulevard of Batumi were crowded today, with some even daring to swim. According to 1tv.ge, infectious disease specialist and manager of the 'Medalf' clinic, Levan Antadze, stated that swimming in the sea does not pose a danger to people.
Ajaria's Minister of Health, Zaal Mikheladze, announced that the seawater is not dangerous in terms of coronavirus transmission. 'Swimming in the sea is safe; this has been said multiple times. However, it is recommended to maintain distance. Global experience is still very limited in this regard. We expect the World Health Organization to develop a protocol regarding behavior in the sea, which we will follow. At the same time, I advise citizens not to stay at the beach for too long,' Mikheladze said.
