"Currently, we are managing to avoid a social crisis. Why 'currently'? Because it's unknown how long this will last," says Prime Minister

“The coronavirus has impacted our economy, and now we are working on anti-crisis measures. Before the pandemic, in the previous year, Armenia's economic growth was 7.6 percent,” said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Mir 24.

He noted that 17 anti-crisis measures have been implemented, resulting in support for 1 million residents of Armenia.

“I must say that there is certainly some social tension in Armenia. However, we are currently managing to avoid a social crisis. Why do I say 'currently'? Because it's unknown how long this situation will last,” Pashinyan stated.

According to the Prime Minister, the global economy has now entered a recession phase. He emphasized the need to work hard to prevent the economic crisis from escalating into a humanitarian crisis. Pashinyan expressed confidence that this could be avoided.
