The State Revenue Committee Reveals Online Illegal Entrepreneurship Case

The State Revenue Committee's investigation and operational intelligence department has uncovered a case of illegal entrepreneurship conducted through social networks, aimed at eliminating manifestations of such activities.

According to operational data, a citizen has been engaged in advertising and selling food supplements on an online platform without state registration and tax authority registration. The department's employees developed and implemented operational and intelligence measures. In particular, through a covert buyer, purchases made on various occasions confirmed the citizen's illegal entrepreneurial activity. The individual was selling a well-known brand of food supplement, 'fish oil.'

Following the incident, a calculation of the damage caused to the state was carried out by the department, and the compiled materials were submitted to the relevant subdivision to hold the citizen administratively liable in accordance with the law. The State Revenue Committee urges citizens to refrain from illegal commercial activities, and if engaging in entrepreneurship via online platforms, to obtain state registration and register with the tax authorities to avoid future administrative or criminal liability.

The committee also reports that it monitors and supervises the legality of commercial transactions conducted by residents of Armenia through the internet.
