Rescue Teams Evacuate About 60 Residents From Burning Building in Abovyan

On April 30, at 16:08, the Crisis Management National Center received a report about smoke observed in the elevator shaft of a building located at 26 Republic Street in Abovyan, Kotayk Province. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Four fire-rescue teams from the Yerevan and regional rescue administration, a ladder truck, and a specialized emergency response team were dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that the fire had broken out in an improvised storage room adjacent to the garbage chute. Rescuers evacuated about 60 residents from the building.

The fire was contained at 17:12 and extinguished at 17:31. Household and worn-out items were burned, covering an area of about 10 square meters.
