Body of 31-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Car at Kapan Cemetery

On April 27, 2020, at 08:35, a report was received from a citizen stating that there was a body in a parked car at the cemetery located in the Barabatum neighborhood of Kapan city. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

An investigative-operational group found the body of a 31-year-old resident of Kapan city in the interior of a parked "Mercedes" car, with gunshot wounds. A number of urgent investigative and procedural actions were carried out, including examinations of the body and the crime scene, during which a weapon resembling a "Makarov" pistol was discovered, as well as a fired cartridge and a bullet inside the car.

An autopsy has been appointed. The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia's Siunik regional investigatory department has initiated a criminal case under Article 110 (incitement to suicide) and Article 235 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, munitions, explosive materials or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

Measures are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the case and ensure an objective and comprehensive investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
