Germany Approves First Clinical Trials for COVID-19 Vaccine

The Paul Ehrlich Institute for Vaccines and Biomedicines in Germany has approved the country's first clinical trials for a vaccine against the coronavirus infection. This was reported by РИА Новости, citing the organization’s press service.

It was noted that the approval came after a thorough assessment of the potential benefits and risks of the vaccine. "Thanks to preliminary intensive scientific consultations with the developers of the BioNTech medication, the Paul Ehrlich Institute was able to complete the process in four days," the statement said.

It is known that the trial will involve 200 healthy volunteers aged 18 to 55.
