Georgia Reduces Fines for Violating Quarantine Rules

Individuals violating quarantine or isolation rules will now face a fine of 2000 lari instead of 3000 lari. This change is included in the administrative offenses code of Georgia, as reported by Alik Media.

According to the draft law, the fine for legal entities violating quarantine or isolation rules is set at 10,000 lari, down from 15,000 lari. The chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee, Anri Okhanashvili, discussed this legislative amendment during a committee meeting.

If approved, this legislative change will come into force on May 2, 2020. It is worth noting that according to a decree issued by the President of Georgia, individuals violating quarantine or isolation rules face a fine of 3000 lari (approximately 1000 USD), while legal entities are fined 15,000 lari (approximately 5000 USD).
