US Assistance to Fight Coronavirus in Armenia Will Increase
The US Ambassador to Armenia, Lynne Tracy, stated in an interview with Voice of America that the US assistance aimed at combating coronavirus in Armenia has increased.
"In addition to the previously mentioned $1.1 million, a decision has been made to allocate an additional $600,000 to Armenia," she noted. This assistance will support the operation of laboratories testing for the virus. It will also be directed towards governmental programs aimed at identifying individuals infected with the coronavirus, as well as other technical work.
Aside from the mentioned $1.7 million support, the US Agency for International Development has provided food to 1,000 families in need and elderly individuals in the Shirak region, ensuring they do not have to go to the store," the ambassador added.
