Numerous Events Dedicated to the Armenian Genocide to Be Held in Ukraine
The coronavirus pandemic has only changed the format of events dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Ukraine. The projects have moved online and into the media sphere. According to a report by Armenpress, this was announced to AnalitikaUA.net by the executive director of the Ukrainian Armenians' Union, Hovakim Harutyunyan.
In several cities, stands, billboards, citylights, and other informational materials about the Armenian Genocide will be installed. An online lecture will be given by Davit Davtyan, a candidate of historical sciences and head of the historical-cultural committee of the Ukrainian Armenians' Union. Additionally, prominent figures from the Armenian community will join the creation of a video project about the Armenian Genocide.
The traditional ceremony of laying flowers at monuments will be held in compliance with all quarantine regulations,” he summarized.
Earlier, it was reported that the Armenian community in Berdiansk had set up a khachkar. It is known that since 2015, under the initiative of Vilén Shatvoryan, the leader of the Ukrainian Armenians' Union, 20 khachkars have been installed across the country.
As a reminder, the social video titled “Thank you for the chance to bloom again. Armenians” was broadcast last year on over 30 Ukrainian television channels.
