Former Minister of Justice Marat Aleksanyan Passed Away
Former Minister of Justice Marat Aleksanyan has passed away at the age of 70 after a long and severe illness.

Education
In 1975, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University.
Professional Career
From 1971 to 1984, he held elective and appointed positions in various district committees of the Komsomol and Communist Party in Abovyan.
From 1984 to 1990, he worked at the Abovyan Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office.
In 1995, he was elected as a member of the Supreme Council of Armenia.
In 1995, he was elected as a member of the National Assembly of Armenia.
From February 1996 to April 1998, he served as the Minister of Justice of Armenia.
By a decree of the President of Armenia, Marat Aleksanyan was awarded the title of State Counselor of Justice of Armenia.
He was also an academician at the International Academy of California in the United States.
