Direct Broadcast Channel of the Prime Minister Granted to 8 TV Companies: H1 on the Scandal of Footage Outside of Pashinyan's Address
The Public Television Company has released an official clarification on its Facebook page regarding the footage taken before Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's televised address, which surfaced online today.
The announcement states: "Dear viewers, we would like to inform you that there are circulating images from the technical rehearsal of the Prime Minister's speech, which are taken before and during all live broadcasts and are not intended for airing. By the request of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Public Television Company has provided an open channel, utilized by the mentioned TV companies: Armenia TV, Shant, Mir, H2, AR, Kentron, Yerkir Media, and 5th Channel. All re-broadcasting television companies receive this technical video signal to prepare for the live broadcast. Thus, all television companies broadcasting the Prime Minister's address have received this technical signal. There has been no leakage of any video footage from the Public Television Company."
It is important to recall that on Friday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the nation on the topic of coronavirus, and today a montage video has surfaced online, which includes footage from the preparatory phase of the address before entering the live broadcast. The video is edited in such a way as to portray Nikol Pashinyan in a mocking light.
