Current Situation on Armenia's Roads: Drivers Advised to Use Winter Tires Only
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of April 19 at 09:00, the roads in Armenia are mostly passable. However, the roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Karahunj Lake in the Aragatsotn region remain closed indefinitely.
Regarding the Lars situation, based on information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is only open to heavy-duty vehicles following intense snow removal efforts. It is important to note that the ban on the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect, although it does not apply to freight transportation. Drivers are advised to travel using winter tires exclusively.
