New Data from Around the World: COVID-19 Cases Reach 2,251,832
As of now, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases globally has reached 2,251,832. According to data from coronavirus research centers reported by Armenpress, the death toll has surpassed 154,000, while 574,403 people have recovered.
The United States, which holds the highest number of confirmed cases, reports 710,212 cases with a death toll of 37,175. This makes the U.S. the country with the highest number of deaths worldwide.
Spain is in second place with 190,839 confirmed cases and 20,002 deaths.
Italy ranks third with a total of 172,434 confirmed cases and 22,745 deaths.
Next is France, where there have been 147,969 confirmed cases and 18,681 deaths.
Germany follows with 141,397 confirmed cases and 4,352 deaths, while the United Kingdom has surpassed China, reporting 108,692 confirmed cases and a death toll of 14,576.
China itself has a total of 82,692 confirmed cases, with 27 new cases reported, and has seen 4,632 deaths.
In Iran, the total number of confirmed cases is 79,494 with 4,958 deaths so far. Turkey has reported 78,546 cases, Belgium 36,138, and Russia 32,008 confirmed cases.
Brazil has 34,222 cases, the Netherlands 30,449, and Canada 31,927 confirmed cases.
In Georgia, there are 370 confirmed cases and 3 deaths.
Among the Arab nations, the United Arab Emirates reports 6,302 cases and 37 deaths, while Qatar has 4,663 confirmed cases and 7 deaths. Egypt has a higher death toll with 205 deaths but a lower number of cases at 2,844. Iraq has reported 1,482 cases and 81 deaths, while Kuwait has registered 5 deaths from 1,658 confirmed cases.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 210 countries and territories have reported cases of the infection.
