Decree: Employers in Russia Can Hire Foreigners Without Permission
Prior to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, foreign nationals needed to obtain a special permit to work in Russia. This is no longer the case. Employers can now hire foreigners without any permission. This information was reported by ‘RIA Novosti’.
The temporary measure eliminating this requirement was issued by a presidential decree. It will remain in effect until June. Furthermore, during this period, foreign nationals currently in Russia will not face expulsion or other punitive measures.
However, there is a retained restriction stipulating that employers must still possess the appropriate permit to hire foreign workers.
