Citizen Discovers Father's Body on Living Room Sofa with Signs of Violence

On April 16, 2020, at 16:40, the police in Armenia received a report from a citizen stating that from April 14 to April 16, 2020, he had been absent from his home on Sofia Street in Yerevan, and upon returning, he discovered the body of his 62-year-old father on the living room sofa, showing signs of violence.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Investigative Division of the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts under Article 104 (murder) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Urgent investigative and procedural actions have been undertaken, including an examination of the crime scene. Forensic medical and genetic examinations have been ordered. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and measures are being taken to identify and apprehend the person responsible for the crime.
