Nearly 90,000 Prisoners Temporarily Released in Turkey Due to Coronavirus
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Turkish parliament has passed a bill for the temporary release of nearly 90,000 prisoners. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Under the initiative of the ruling Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party, individuals convicted of non-serious crimes will be released until May 31, after which they will continue to serve their sentences. The deadline may be extended depending on the dynamics of the pandemic's development.
