Fire Near Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Extinguished
The fire that broke out near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant has been extinguished, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
According to the source, the efforts to extinguish the fire were aided by rain that began 11 days after the fire started. The forest fires near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant ignited on April 4.
More than 400 people participated in the firefighting efforts, along with nearly 100 units of equipment, including planes and helicopters.
The Kyiv police department reported that two individuals have been detained on suspicion of arson.
