Major Car Accident and Fire in Kotayk Province

A major car accident and fire occurred in Kotayk Province on March 26. At around 22:30, the emergency call center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report of a burning vehicle near the "Golden Rooster" restaurant complex located in the administrative area of the village of Goris.

According to shamshyan.com, the fire and rescue team of the Kotayk Province emergency services arrived at the scene promptly with one fire truck. Before the firefighters arrived, employees of the restaurant complex and local citizens attempted to extinguish the flames. Upon arrival, the firefighters managed to put out the fire in a Mercedes vehicle with the license plate 35 CS 039, but the car was completely reduced to a pile of ashes.

A photojournalist reported that a 62-year-old resident of Geghard village, Hambardzum Poghosyan, approached the traffic police and stated that he was the driver of the vehicle, claiming that the accident was due to a malfunction of the car. However, the police have doubts about whether he was actually the driver.
