Entry to Artsakh to Be Temporarily Restricted: New Decision
The Police of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement, which in particular states:
“Dear citizens: Due to the state of emergency declared in the Republic of Armenia and in order to ensure the effectiveness of the measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the Road Police of the Republic of Armenia and territorial units will immediately establish permanent checkpoints on the roads leading to the Republic of Artsakh (Sotk-Karabakh highway, from Tegh and Syunik villages towards the border with Artsakh), temporarily prohibiting the entry of all individuals into the Republic of Artsakh.
Exceptions will be made for:
- Individuals registered in the Republic of Artsakh,
- Vehicles engaged in cargo transportation, including trucks regardless of their loaded status, and passenger cars provided they carry cargo,
- Individuals conducting monitoring missions during the upcoming elections in Artsakh and journalists, upon presentation of relevant documents.”
