President Signs Laws Imposing Penalties for Violating State of Emergency Requirements

President Armen Sarkissian has signed the laws on "Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia" and "Amendments and Additions to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Armenia". These laws aim to enhance the effectiveness of measures taken during a state of emergency.

Preventive measures are necessary and must be implemented unconditionally and responsibly by everyone. It is also essential for all relevant authorities, including law enforcement, to demonstrate high accountability in the application of these laws.

When setting the rules for isolation and self-isolation, even under a state of emergency, it is important to show care and an individual approach for individuals with serious health issues, during family tragedies, and in other exceptional circumstances.

Additionally, it is crucial to ensure justifiable and proportional application of restrictions imposed on the press by law.
