Snowfall in Some Regions of Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of 08:35 on March 18, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in the territory of Armenia. The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in Aragatsotn province will remain closed for an indefinite period.
Passage through the Vardenyats Pass and the roads to the village of Amasia in Shirak province is difficult. Snow is falling in the villages of Ashotzk and Amasia in Shirak province, as well as in Vanadzor, Tashir, Stepanavan in Lori province, and in the cities of Gavar, Martuni, and Jambarak in Gegharkunik province, and in the Aragats region of Aragatsotn province.
There are patches of black ice on the roads in Lori province. Fog has settled in the cities of Goris and Kapan in Syunik province. Blizzards are reported in the area known as Saravan-'Zanger' (fog) and in Gyumri, Akhuryan, and the village of Amasia in Shirak province.
