Four Individuals from Armenia Self-Isolate in Ninotsminda, One in Quarantine Zone
Five of the six municipalities in Samtskhe-Javakheti, with a total of 36 residents, have self-isolated. These citizens have arrived in Georgia from both high-risk countries and other nations, reports Alik Media.
According to the data from the Samtskhe-Javakheti Division of the Center for Disease Control, 18 individuals have self-isolated in Akhaltsikhe, 8 in Borjomi, 4 in Aspindza, 4 in Ninotsminda, and 2 in Adigeni.
In an interview with Alik Media, Tigran Yeghoyan, the director of the Ninotsminda Public Health Center, confirmed this information. He stated that the day before, a resident of the Ninotsminda municipality arrived in Georgia, along with five citizens of Georgia. One of them had a temperature of 37 degrees, which led to their transfer to the quarantine zone in Abastumani. At this moment, no fever is recorded for that individual. As for the other four travelers, they have self-isolated and do not have any health complaints.
It is noted that currently there are 33 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Georgia, with one recovery reported. There are 637 individuals in the quarantine zone, with 54 under special observation.
The Georgian government has decided to close all borders starting from March 18, banning the entry of foreigners into Georgia. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, educational institutions in Georgia operate remotely, and theaters, casinos, and other entertainment venues are closed. The government is urging individuals to self-isolate and avoid crowded places. Additionally, numerous large events have been canceled, including weddings. Georgia is set to close its borders with all countries for two weeks.
