Iran's Deputy Health Minister Recovering from Coronavirus
Iran's Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi has recovered from the coronavirus. This announcement was made on Thursday by the country's Health Minister Saeed Namaki. It is important to note that on February 25, it was reported that the Deputy Health Minister's test results had come back positive.
“Considering your complete recovery from the illness, you are tasked, as my personal representative, to visit the provincial and city center administrations to oversee the mobilization of efforts in combatting the coronavirus,” stated the Minister's message addressed to Harirchi, with the official text published on the Iranian Health Ministry's official website.
On February 25, Harirchi announced that the results of his coronavirus test had come back positive. The day before the detection of the virus, Harirchi had participated in a press conference organized by Iran's government spokesman Ali Rabiei, which was broadcast live on state television. During his speech, Harirchi was seen continuously sneezing and wiping his face with a handkerchief.
The Iranian Health Ministry had announced on February 21 the registration of the first coronavirus case in the country, with the infected individual identified in the city of Qom. According to the latest official data, the number of confirmed infections in the country has reached 10,075, while the death toll has reached 429.
