Quarantine Declared Across Italy
The Prime Minister of Italy, Giuseppe Conte, has announced the extension of quarantine measures across the entire country due to the coronavirus outbreak. The measures will come into effect this morning.
According to ANSA agency, the working hours of restaurants and bars will be reduced, closing at 6:00 PM, and operations during the daytime will be allowed only if social distancing can be maintained.
Classes in schools and universities have been suspended until April 3. Cinemas, theaters, museums, and gyms are closed, and all kinds of events and ceremonies, including weddings, funerals, and religious services, are prohibited.
It is worth noting that in Italy, the number of deaths due to the new coronavirus has increased by 97 in one day, bringing the total to 463. The number of confirmed cases in Italy has reached 9,172. Borrell has stated that 724 people have recovered.
