No one has the right to target family life, especially children, Ombudsman
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, has strongly condemned the attempt by Henrik Hartenyanc, a member of Yerevan's city council from the ‘My Step’ faction, to target the daughter of Hrayr Tovmasyan.
In a Facebook post, Tatoyan stated: “The actions of Yerevan city council member Henrik Hartenyanc regarding Hrayr Tovmasyan's daughter are strictly condemnable and absolutely unacceptable. Furthermore, I strongly urge every public official to be fully aware of their official status and to act strictly within the confines of that status, demonstrating appropriate behavior. You are limited by your official status.”
“No one has the right to target familial lives, particularly children, or direct tensions towards that direction—regardless of whether it concerns the family of a public official or not. I urge our compatriots using social networks to treat each other with respect, to honor each other's opinions and dignity, and to respect personal and family lives,” he added.
It should be reminded that Henrik Hartenyanc posted a picture of Hrayr Tovmasyan’s daughter on his Facebook page, writing: “H. Tovmasyan's daughter FB, I hope to see you, dear people.”
