14-Year-Old Girl's Child Born from Father Placed in Orphanage: Details

As previously reported, in the course of necessary investigative and procedural actions conducted by the Investigative Committee of Armenia in the Ararat region, several circumstances surrounding the case of sexual relations with a minor under 16 have been clarified. On May 13, 2019, at 3:20 PM, a report was received by the police from a medical center regarding a 14-year-old minor, a resident of the Ararat region, born in 2005, who presented herself for medical assistance being in a 22-23 weeks pregnancy state.

It was revealed that the father of the child is the minor's own father. He has since been arrested. The girl requires special care due to her disability and was unable to provide accurate details about the incident.

The child was born healthy through a cesarean section. Newmedia.am has learned that both the newborn and her mother have refused further care and rights concerning the child. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reported to the site that the infant is currently in one of the child care centers operating under their supervision.
