Yerevan-Tehran Flights Resume
Armenia Airways has resumed regular flights between Yerevan and Tehran as of January 14. According to a post on the airline's Facebook page, the Iranian side has provided guarantees for the safe operation of the flight routes within its airspace.
“In light of the recent statement issued by the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia regarding the use of the Islamic Republic of Iran's airspace, Armenia Airways approached the Iranian embassy and received assurances concerning the safe operation of flight routes within Iranian airspace. Considering this information, Armenia Airways has resumed its regular Yerevan-Tehran-Yerevan flights as of January 14,” the post states.
It is worth mentioning that the Civil Aviation Committee had previously issued a statement advising Armenian-registered airlines to consider the possibility of temporarily bypassing Iraqi and Iranian airspace.
