The Cause of Tremors at Dalma Garden Mall Revealed

Gemma Hambardzumyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Urban Development of Armenia, informed SHANTNEWS.am that the cause of the tremors at the Dalma Garden Mall has been identified.

The tremors at the Dalma Garden Mall were caused by the incorrect installation of an air conditioning unit on the roof. It's essential that a special rubber insert be placed under the air conditioning unit to prevent its possible oscillation against the walls. This task had, in fact, not been carried out.

The tremors were felt over an area of about 200 square meters around the building, where this air conditioning unit, which was malfunctioning, had been installed outdoors.

She noted that specialists from the Seismic Service conducted monitoring in the area with special instruments, and no tremors have been recorded since yesterday; the mall has not sustained any structural damage.

Earlier, it was reported that people were evacuated from Dalma Garden Mall. Panic had emerged among the public after false information regarding a potential earthquake circulated.
