Automobile Enthusiasts Prepare for a Car Rally to Protest Points System

According to the newspaper “Zhamanak,” the government’s new initiatives continue to cause public dissatisfaction. Our sources indicate that various groups of automobile enthusiasts are discussing the possibility of holding a car rally at Republic Square. The participants of the rally intend to express their opposition to the points system set in place for violations of traffic rules, urging the government to abandon the idea of implementing these changes.

Despite the government’s justifications that the purpose of these changes is to reduce the number of traffic accidents, experts point out that the unprecedented rise in accidents is due to an increase in the number of vehicles and the incompatibility of new requirements with Armenia’s road infrastructure.
