Six Individuals Declared Hunger Strike in 'Prison Hospital': Ombudsman
The representative of the Human Rights Defender has contacted the management of the 'Prison Hospital' to verify information circulating in the media regarding individuals who have declared a hunger strike. This was reported by the staff of the Ombudsman's office.
According to the prison's confirmation, at present, there have been six applications from detained individuals (five of whom are being held in custody and one sentenced) declaring a hunger strike. According to the information provided, the individuals on hunger strike are under the supervision of medical staff.
The issue is currently under the immediate attention of the Human Rights Defender. Necessary measures will be taken within the scope of the Defender's authority to ensure the rights of these individuals.
