As of 23:00, the Vardenyats Pass is closed, roads are icy
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of January 4 at 23:00, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks, while it is difficult for passenger vehicles to navigate.
The Sotk-Karvachar roadway is difficult to navigate, and trucks can only pass with the use of snow chains. On the Goris-Sisian road in the Syunik region, in the area known as 'Zanger', there are patches of black ice on the roads in the Kotayk region.
Fog is present in the Vardenyats Pass, Dilijan, Berd, and Noyemberyan in the Tavush region, as well as in Charentsavan, Yeghvard, and Abovyan in the Kotayk region. According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
