Oldest Married Couple in the World Celebrates 80th Wedding Anniversary

The oldest married couple in the world, 106-year-old John and 105-year-old Charlotte Henderson from the United States, have celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary. This was reported by CNN.

To mark the occasion, John took Charlotte for a ride in a 1920s vintage car and gifted her a bouquet of flowers, recreating moments from their first date. The couple celebrated this memorable day surrounded by family and friends, enjoying a slideshow of photographs taken over the years.

The future spouses met at the University of Texas in 1934 and got married in 1939. The Hendersons have been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the oldest married couple.

“They are a wonderful couple and a prime example of happiness in relationships. They are happy to be side by side, traveling together, and just living life,” said their grandson, Jason Freen.

The television network notes that the couple enjoys good health and attributes the secret to their longevity and happy marriage to a humble lifestyle and mutual love.
