US Ambassador Summoned by Turkey's Foreign Ministry Over Armenian Genocide Resolution
The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned US Ambassador David Satterfield to Ankara in relation to the resolution passed by the US Senate recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide. This was reported by TASS.
“The US Ambassador David Satterfield was summoned to our ministry due to the resolution regarding the events of 1915. Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal conveyed our response to that decision,” a source from Turkey's foreign policy agency told TASS.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, the US Congress's upper chamber, the Senate, unanimously adopted the resolution acknowledging and condemning the Armenian Genocide, marking the first time such a resolution has been passed in the US Senate.
