Attempted Murder in Tavush: Man Aged 34 Wanted by Authorities

The Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee is conducting an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attempted murder of a 31-year-old resident of Dilijan.

According to preliminary data, at 22:15 on December 11, 2019, the Dilijan Police Department received a report from Dilijan Medical Center that a 31-year-old man had been admitted with gunshot wounds.

Investigative findings suggest that at approximately 21:30 on December 11, 2019, in the yard of a gas station located on the Tbilisyan highway in Dilijan, a 34-year-old local resident, for reasons still unknown, shot at the 31-year-old man three times with a firearm that was illegally possessed, intending to unlawfully deprive him of life. The victim sustained "blind gunshot wounds to the right flank, left thigh, and other areas of the body." However, the suspect fled the scene before completing the crime.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Tavush Regional Investigative Department under Articles 34-104, part 1 and 235, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. The 31-year-old man has been recognized as the victim in this case.

During the preliminary investigation, site inspections have been conducted, the victim's clothing has been seized, witnesses have been interrogated, and forensic medical and ballistic examinations have been appointed.

Based on sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation, a decision has been made to involve the 34-year-old man as a suspect under Articles 34-104, part 1 and 235, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. A motion has been submitted to the court to select detention as a preventive measure. A search has been announced for the 34-year-old suspect.

The relevant police department has been instructed to take measures to locate the alleged perpetrator of the crime.
