Armenia to Have One Representative at Winter Youth Olympic Games
Armenia will have one representative at the 2nd Winter Youth Olympic Games, set to take place in Lausanne, Switzerland. The athlete is skier Spartak Voskanyan, as reported by the press service of the Armenian National Olympic Committee.
The 16-year-old athlete will compete in the speed skating and 10 km classical style events. Spartak Voskanyan will travel to the competition venue with coach Sergey Mikayelyan.
It is noteworthy that the Winter Youth Olympic Games will occur from January 9-22, 2020, featuring 1,880 athletes aged 15-18 from more than 70 countries. All tickets for the opening ceremony of Lausanne 2020 sold out on the first day of ticket sales. Furthermore, admission to all sporting events and award ceremonies of the games will be free. The organizers have also decided to cancel the closing ceremony, which will be replaced by a disco event held in the center of Lausanne.
