Large-Scale Attack on Nigerian Military Camp Leaves 60 Dead

A deadly armed attack on a military camp in western Nigeria has resulted in over 60 fatalities. According to reports from France-Presse, citing information from Nigerian security forces, the assailants launched mortar fire at the camp.

“Sixty people have died. The mortars predominantly struck weapons and fuel depots, which is why we have such a high number of casualties,” a source told the agency.

It is important to note that the camp is located near the border with Mali. The head of the security forces did not clarify how many of the casualties were military personnel and how many were civilians.
