The Next President of Russia Will Not Be Vladimir Putin, Says Margarita Simonyan
According to the "RIA Novosti" agency, Margarita Simonyan, the chief editor of Russian RT television, has made a prediction about the upcoming elections in Russia:
"My prediction is that the next president of Russia, as it seems to me based on his own speeches, will not be Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and that he will suggest someone he trusts, and advise them as his successor. And then, as he likes to repeat, the people will choose," said Margarita Simonyan.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently stated that they are not thinking about the president's successor at the moment, as there is still a lot of work to be done ahead of the elections.
Putin's powers will expire in 2024, and he is not eligible to participate in the next elections according to the Russian Constitution.
