Fatal Hit-and-Run in Kotayk: Pedestrian Thrown About 10 Meters by Vehicle

On December 10, a fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 3:00 PM, the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado struck a 40-45-year-old female pedestrian on the 15th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, in front of the 'Bali' hotel-restaurant complex. The struck pedestrian was thrown approximately 10 meters and died at the scene. This was reported by shamshyan.com.

A criminal case has been initiated under the characteristics of part 2 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code regarding the incident. The driver, who did not flee the scene, was escorted by police to the Kotayk Division of the Police. Law enforcement and the investigative department are working to establish the identities of the driver and the deceased. The driver has been identified as 30-year-old Tigran Vardanyan, a resident of Yerevan.
