Snow, Black Ice, Fog on Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of December 5, at 1:00 PM, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads across Armenia.

The Sotk-Karabakh highway is closed. The Vardenyats Pass (from the Gegharkunik region) is closed for trucks, while other vehicles can pass with difficulty.

Black ice is present in the Aragatsotn region in the Aragats and Aparan areas, in the village of Gorayk in the Syunik region, and in the 'Zanger' section of Sisian.

Snowfall is occurring in the Aragats region of Aragatsotn, in Gegharkunik, in the Syunik region, in the city of Vanadzor in Lori, in the mountainous areas of Vayots Dzor, and in the city of Jermuk.

Fog has been reported in Abovyan city in Kotayk, at the Vardenyats Pass, and on the Saravan-Zanger road.

According to information received from the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepanstminda-Larsi highway is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to only use winter tires.
