Prosecutor's Office Investigates Publications Regarding KamAZ Donations
The Prosecutor General's Office has initiated an examination of publications regarding the donation of KamAZ brand garbage collection trucks to the municipality by various companies and entrepreneurs. This information was provided to Panorama.am by the prosecutor's office.
It is noteworthy that for the past two days, the media and social networks have been abuzz with scandalous donation stories. According to media reports, companies donated these trucks to the municipality in exchange for obtaining construction permits for their projects.
The controversy began when Ruslan Baghdasaryan, the former head of the Davtashen community from the Republican Party, asked David Khazhakyan, a member of the “Bright Armenia” faction in the Yerevan City Council, to inquire whether it was true that a construction company involved in projects near the Yegvard highway had donated ten KamAZ trucks to the city to secure a construction permit.
Opposition legislators raised alarms about potential corruption and called on the prosecutor's office to pay attention to the matter.
