20-Year-Old Driver Crashes Mercedes into Traffic Police Officers' Toyota While Intoxicated

Yerevan, today, November 20, an accident occurred. Around 02:20, 20-year-old Mekhak Arevyan, a resident of Argavand village in the Ararat region, crashed his Mercedes, with license plate number 29 TT 238, into the rear of a parked Toyota Corolla, with license plate number 273 II 02, at the beginning of a tunnel on Mashtots Avenue 2.

According to reports from Shamshyan.com, fortunately, there were no injuries as a result of the accident. The source notes that the Toyota Corolla was registered with the traffic police, and it was parked legally while the officers were processing another accident when the Mercedes collided with their vehicle.

The driver of the Mercedes was subjected to a sobriety test on site, which revealed that he was at a very high level of intoxication. Consequently, he will face administrative penalties amounting to 200,000 drams. Materials regarding the incident are being prepared at the first police battalion of the traffic police.
