«Mnatsakanyan Will Become Gnatsakanyan»: Protests by Republican Party Supporters

Currently, youth representatives from the Republican Party (RP) are staging a protest in Yerevan. Their demonstration is against the appointment of Zohrab Mnatsakanyan. They emphasize, “Mnatsakanyan will soon become Gnatsakanyan.”

It is worth noting that recently, 168.am sent an inquiry to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) seeking clarification regarding Mnatsakanyan’s statements during the BBC's “HardTalk,” where he said that “thanks to the efforts of the revolutionary government, this month they have managed to convey the message that suitcases are not being brought to representatives of the authorities.” The inquiry asked who was bringing those suitcases, what was inside them, to whom they were being delivered, and on what basis did the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia make such a statement on BBC.

About 15 days after receiving the inquiry, MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan responded, stating, “Mnatsakanyan described the government’s fight against systemic corruption using a figurative expression.”
