The Number of Mortgage Loans in Armenia Increased by 23.3%, or 7,261 Loans, Says Prime Minister
In September of this year, compared to September of the previous year, the number of mortgage loans in Armenia increased by 23.3%, or 7,261 loans. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.
This means that 7,261 families have become homeowners during the September-to-September period. This increase occurred even before the launch of the program to provide military personnel with affordable housing.
It is important to note that the loans under the state-targeted program "Affordable Housing for Young Families" have increased by 24.9%. Mortgage loans under this program are available at interest rates lower than 5% in Yerevan and 3% in the regions.
Most encouraging is the significant increase in early repayments of mortgage loans observed at the "National Mortgage Company." This indicates that people are not only taking out loans but also earning money and freeing themselves from the burden of mortgage debt earlier than expected.
