‘Haykakan Zhamanak’: ‘The law enforcement agencies will provide the answer’. The conflict between Vahaghn Vermishyan and Sarhat Petrosyan intensifies
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ reports that the ongoing conflict between the former head of the State Committee of Cadastre, Sarhat Petrosyan, and the head of the Urban Development Committee, Vahaghn Vermishyan, is gaining new momentum.
In an interview with the newspaper on October 22, Vahaghn Vermishyan said, “There has been no mapping in the country. A person must have built at least one henhouse in their life in order to say something about urban development...”
This was followed by a response from Sarhat Petrosyan. In a conversation with ‘Azatutyun’, commenting on Vermishyan's statement, Petrosyan said, “I don’t take Vermishyan seriously, he is not taken seriously in the government, even in the committee he leads, and I assume not even at home. Vermishyan has a reputation as a charlatan, he is a plain liar, and I can prove that… and this person exists today, but will not exist tomorrow. He encountered this position by chance.”
The newspaper spoke with Vermishyan yesterday morning about this issue. He acknowledged being aware of Petrosyan's remarks. “I heard it, I heard it,” said V. Vermishyan. When asked what his response to Petrosyan would be, Vermishyan replied, “The answer will already be provided by the law enforcement agencies, what can I say...”. Will Vermishyan file a lawsuit or not? He clarified, “It’s not excluded, I haven’t decided yet, you will know later.”
At the end of the day, ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ attempted to clarify with Vermishyan whether he had decided to go to court. His anger had subsided, and he declined further comment.
